Dawn, great blog and particularly good message about college degrees!

Some of the best salespeople and sales managers we have met have had no college degree. Some of the most incompetent people we have met in the automotive industry have had several degrees. And then we have also seen very competent people with degrees and incompetent people without. Especially for sales success, we tend to recruit more people who are results orientated instead of 'qualification' orientated.

An interesting correlation I have noticed is that of the companies I have worked with, the ones who place the highest priority on paper qualifications (degrees, diplomas, etc.) are the poorest business performers and the ones who put the highest priority on employees results and how they have achieved them tend to be the best business performers.
